From an early age, Jasmine’s lifelong passion for animals grew into a dedicated career focused on improving their quality of life through compassionate care and behavioral understanding. Raised on a farm,  Jasmine gained hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals, from household pets like cats and dogs to larger livestock such as hogs and cattle. This early experience fostered a deep appreciation for animal welfare and the importance of individualized, cooperative care for every species.

Jasmine’s first professional experience with animals began with pet sitting and dog walking, caring for a diverse range of species including birds, reptiles, rodents, household pets, and farm animals. This work naturally developed into management roles at small, locally owned pet retail stores, where Jay also provided bathing and daycare services.

As Jasmine’s career advanced, they began performing behavioral evaluations for animals in training programs, independent care, and group care environments. These evaluations allowed Jasmine to assess social compatibility, temperament, and specific behavioral needs, ensuring that each animal received the most suitable care and support possible. Through this work, Jasmine honed the ability to interpret animal body language, identify sources of stress or reactivity, and design management strategies that promoted both safety and emotional well-being.

Seeking to expand their knowledge, Jasmine later transitioned into a veterinary clinic setting to gain broader medical and behavioral experience. This step deepened their understanding of the connection between physical health and behavior, inspiring Jasmine to pursue formal education in canine behavior and psychology to better serve both animals and their owners.

Jasmine’s formal education in human psychology began in 2014 at Washington State University, where they studied Psychology and Comparative Literature. They later attended Animal Behavior College, earning certifications in General Animal Behavior, Pet First Aid, and specialized coursework in Reactivity and Behavioral Modification. Returning to WSU, Jasmine continued their education and apprenticeship programs with a focus on Level 5 Canine Psychology. They went on to achieve the CBCC-KA (Certified Behavior Consultant Canine – Knowledge Assessed) credential through the international certification board CCPDT.org.

Recently, Jasmine chose to represent their education and experience through channels that align more closely with their personal ethics and professional values; no longer holding affiliation or certification with the ccpdt. She remains dedicated to lifelong learning through evidence-based research and literature in canine behavioral science and are currently pursuing further education in this field.

Jasmine’s professional experience in canine behavior and training begins with mentorship under a Master Trainer in Washington State (who has since passed away and will never be forgotten). That foundational mentorship shaped Jasmine’s philosophy and continues to influence their approach to behavior work today. Their specialized education allows for the creation of personalized behavioral treatment programs that recognize the connection between the nervous system, emotional pathways, and behavior. Each program is grounded in current human and canine behavioral science.

Rooted in compassion, science, and guided by ethics, Jasmine’s training philosophy prioritizes the emotional well-being of every animal. She does not use aversive methods or aversive tools, such as prong collars, shock collars, choke chains, intimidation, fear, & dominance theory. Jasmine’s work is centered on trust, communication, and science-based, humane training methods that build confidence and strengthen the human-animal bond.
