Canine Expedition Services


Adventure-focused outings designed to provide enrichment, exercise, exploration, and individualized care for your dog.
Expeditions can be a great fit for reactive dogs, puppies, troublemakers, apartment dogs, active dogs, and busy families who want their dogs to have meaningful experiences while they’re away.

Personalized Outings:
Most expeditions are private and designed around your dog’s personality, comfort level, energy, social preferences, and physical needs. Group options may be available for multi-dog households upon request.


Leashed Locations:

Outings may include forest trails, beach walks, park exploration, scent enrichment, structured movement, rest breaks, and safe social interaction depending on your dog and the environment.

Off-Leash Options:
Private-property, off-leash play may be available Tuesday–Friday with pickup as early as noon. Please see the Off-Leash Expeditions option for additional details and requirements.

Easy for You:

Pickup and drop-off are included, and you do not need to be home as long as there is an agreed-upon way to safely access your home on the day of service.

Recurring (package) clients receive priority scheduling and discounted outing rates.

Package clients are scheduled automatically of quarterly intervals (Jan-march, April-June,  July-Sept., & Oct.-Dec.) and pay at the beginning of every month.

What’s Included


Every expedition includes:

  • Transportation
  • Water and rest breaks
  • Personalized outing locations selected for your dog
  • Individual pacing and timing based on age, energy level, and comfort
  • Enrichment-focused exploration and exercise
  • Safety-focused handling and transport
  • Small-pack or individualized attention

Transportation & Safety


Safety and comfort are prioritized during every outing.

All dogs are transported using:

  • A supportive hammock system in the middle seat of the vehicle
  • Seatbelt restraints for every dog during transport

Owners are responsible for providing:

  • Leash
  • Harness
  • Treats
  • Optional bed or blanket for additional vehicle comfort

If no bed or blanket is provided, dogs will ride comfortably using the provided hammock system.

Grouping


Group sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure safety, supervision, enrichment, and individualized care for every dog.

Multi-dog participation is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on:

  • temperament
  • compatibility
  • energy level
  • safety considerations
  • trail and location suitability

Not all dogs will be grouped together, and solo outings may be recommended when appropriate.



Starting and Requirements

Steps to start, behavioral communication, and vaccination requirements.

Before Joining Expeditions:

  1. Make an account on the client portal for you and your dog
  2. Upload vaccines and sign policies and agreements
  3. Schedule your complimentary Meet & Greet
  4. Complete paid test day
  5. multi dog household will require a test day for each dog independently, and then a group test day to ensure I can have a better preparedness on each dog.
  6. Trial/Probationary period (case by case)
  7. On with the Expeditions!

Keeping things safe, consistent, and low-stress for every dog is the priority.


Health Requirements:

  • Pets must be up to date on the following:
  • Bordetella
  • Rabies
  • DAPP
  • Annual fecal test
  • New clients must provide one from within the last 3 months
  • Any car sickness discussed and disclosed
  • some situations may require anti naseau meds
  • Intact (not spayed or neutered) pets will be considered on a case to case basis
  • Pets in home must remain parasite and illness free
  • If a pet in the home or frequent contact becomes sick, please reach out to discuss protocol for expedition dog(s).

Pets in public or shared spaces are not without risk of contagious or infectious diseases. This is a risk the owner acknowledges and takes full responsibility for. Rem K9 will do everything in their power to prevent complications.


Behavior & Communication:

  • All behavioral and medical needs must be shared ahead of time and updated as needed
  • Some dogs may not be suited for certain environments, and adjustments will always be made with safety in mind
  • If behaviors or personal animal boundaries/ sensitivities are not disclosed prior to the test day, the dog may risk being booted from expeditions.
  • some behavioral situations may require relationship building appts for the safety of handler.
  • some behavioral situations may require additional safety precautions for safety of everyone.
  • For Multi Dog Household Expeditions:
  • Dogs must be appropriate and safe with known dogs and humans.

Pets in public or shared spaces are not without risk of or exposure to behavior of other people and animals. This is a risk the owner acknowledges and takes full responsibility for. Rem K9 will do everything in their power to prevent complications.


Illness and Parasites

  • all dogs must be illness and parasite free during and upon start.
  • potential exposure from dogs will follow with a safety policy to prevent further spread of outbreaks or conflict.
  • all medical issues, illnesses, and parasite history must be shared prior to services for trust and transparency.
  • risk factors may change requirements for a specific dog to join regular expeditions.
  • Active illness and disease will be handled case by case

  • There will be times where I am responsible for the well being of animals who are difficult to leave alone at all or for a longer period of time, this may affect regularly scheduled outings for your pet on those days.
  • If this is the case, this will be communicated to you to schedule make up days or save money (not pay for those days/ prorate the package) for alternative arrangements.
  • There may also be times where your dog may have an upcoming procedure, telling me about these ASAP allows me more flexibility to try to work the schedule with you around this. I understand emergencies happen, so these will be handled on a case by case basis.
  • Dog's who are in regular daycare may have extra restrictions to these services/ may not be eligible. The safety of EACH client I work with is a priority.
  • On major holidays where Rem K9 is closed, an alternative day when possible will be planned for. If there is no opportunity for an alternative day, the day will be forfeited.
  • During severe weather or road conditions that would cause unsafe circumstances for the expeditions, expeditions may be last minute cancelled, shortened, or rescheduled at REM K9's discretion and availability.
  • no one controls weather conditions or road conditions that would impact your pets safety, but there is not reason to risk the well being of a pet.
  • If the day can't be rescheduled, this will still be paid. I have had to think long and hard about this, and unfortunately, this is still my livelihood. I will try to be as fair as possible for all circumstances considered.
  • Some months will be longer than your standard qty of expeditions expected due to how the days fall, and some will be shorter, package options will remain the same price for both to ensure fairness.
  • If an owner is going to opt out of services, they will still be responsible for paying for the full package amount, as I've already reserved that time and space for your individual dog(s).
  • There is an expectation that a dog may ruin a thing or two in the vehicle in which everyone is traveling in, however, if something major and necessary to the vehicle is ruined or damaged to the point of being unsafe, the charges of replacing or fixing may be brought to the responsibility of the owner.
  • Rem K9 will take into consideration destructive dog behaviors are normal for some, but alternative chewable items must then be provided to prevent destruction of things like the seatbelt, hammock, or seat itself. These items could be Himalayan yak chews, pupsicles, towels, etc. This can be an agreed upon circumstance between owner and handler.
  • Rem K9 is owned and operate by 1 person, if I am out sick for a day or cannot make it, I don't have anyone to replace me. I will do what I can to make up for missed time. In the event that a sick day must be taken, it will still be paid.
  • This business is my only source of income for myself and the business expenses.
  • I am not sick often.
  • I more often than not can find a work around to make up for the time.
  • Most people who are employed have benefits, and the option to take paid sick days off. I am employed to myself, and therefore this is the closest thing I can have to allowing myself that time without risking my livelihood.
  • If the illness persists, I will reach out case by case to handle a fair outcome for all parties individually.
